Taste Connections Cooking Workshop

The Taste Connections Workshop on November 10th was such a success!  So much so that we cannot wait to have Malathy back to teach us more.  The foods we made were awesome and the hands-on skills we learned were priceless!  Thank you to all the participants that camr from all over the state of TN and a few from the KY area!  Thank you so much Vitaflo USA for sponsoring this event and to the Art Institute of Tennessee for being such a wonderful and accommodating venue!  To the student volunteers that donated your time, I hope that you learned a lot as well and will have a better understanding of metabolic disorders.  Thanks for spending your day with us!  Pictures coming soon...

The "PKU Paint Days" Fundraiser was a great success!  We had at least 24 painters come out and paint and best of all...it was FUN!  Thank you to all the participants that came out to paint for PKU and to Deborah Brannen with Third Coast Clay for sponsoring this FUNdraiser!

Tennessee metabolic families enjoyed an awesome IEM Family Day at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital on July 28th.  A big THANK YOU goes to our wonderful TN dieticians for planning this event: Gina Wey, RD, LDN from Vanderbilt, Darla Henderson, RD, MPH, LDN from UT Genetic Center in Knoxville, and Lee Shelly Wallace, MS, RD, LDN from Boling Center in Memphis.  The Kids on the Block puppets were entertaining for all ages and we sampled many delicious recipes prepared by Ericka Lesperence from Cambrooke Foods.  A special thank you goes out to the vendors from Applied Nutrition, Vitaflo, and Nutricia for the generous samples.

Additional sponsors were the Tennessee PKU Foundation and USMD.
